March 13, 2017 - Vehicle Collision
On Monday March 13 @ 10:57 pm MVFD was requested in response to a vehicle collision 40 miles south of Marathon on Highway 385. Upon Arriving at scene MVFD assisted with traffic control and patient care for two individuals who had been ejected from the vehicle. Care was continued until mutual aid from Alpine EMS and Big Bend Ems got on scene and took over. One patient was transported to BBRMC by Big Bend EMS, while the other was taken to Odessa by Aerocare out of Fort Stockton. MVFD cleared scene at approximately 3:55 am after transporting the other passengers in the vehicle to Pope Ranch headquarters. There were a total of 7 passengers in the vehicle and two in the RV at the time of the accident. MVFD would like to thank BCSO Deputies Will Drawe and Chris Roach,Border Patrol, Big Bend Park Rangers, Alpine EMS, Big Bend EMS and Aerocare for their assistance and quick response time to this incident. Lastly to the Pope Ranch Headquarters for allowing the uninjured passengers to stay at the guest house for the evening until transportation home could be arranged.
